Tournaments are the basis of the Poke League's competitive environment. They are fun, competitive, and exciting. But, they are exhausting if rulebreakers come in and try to sabotage or become rowdy during the tournament. Therefore, we have to set up general rules. These rules apply to ALL tournaments.
(Note: These are conduct rules. If you want to learn how the tournaments work, go to the website by clicking "Tournaments" below the banner.)
1. Conduct- We expect that all of our members will behave properly during tournaments. Rowdy behavior will not be tolerated at all. The following are considered to be examples of rowdy behavior-
A. Making fun of or putting down the opponent if you win.
B. Behaving childishly, cursing, or becoming dishonest (more on this later) upon losing.
C. Inappropriate, spammy trash talk.
Those are general examples. There are millions more, but I'm sure your common sense will guide you.
2. Honesty- This is a BIGGIE. A BIG biggie. Tournaments run on honesty, since we have no way of monitoring the battles that our players have. Therefore, we want you all to give accurate results of battles. This means saying that you lost. It's hard, but it's better than never playing again, if you know what I mean.
A. Giving reports- The winner and loser should both send in a PM to the Tournament Supervisor with the following format:
Name
Name Of Opponent
Win or Loss
If only one person send the report within 5 minutes, it will be assumed that the other person agrees to the results.
B. The Consequences of Lying- Lying in tournaments will have BIG consequences. If a certain person is found dishonest, he/she will automatically forfeit. If this happens constantly by one person, he/she will be BANNED from tournament and Ranked play.
If many people continue to be dishonest, we will have to crack down by using stricter security. We may have to impliement eh Code System, which gives codes to everyone, who relinquish it to the winner upon losing. If that doesn't work, we will be tighter. If that doesn't work, Tournament play may be removed. So, in short, DON'T BE DISHONEST!!!
Ok?
3. Tournament Discussion- We understand that you guys will be eager to discuss tournaments. However, discussions such as these are regulated, like any other topic. The same rules apply, but here is a recap-
A. No spamming.
B. No flaming or insulting.
C. No pressuring for real world information.
D. No inappropriate content.
E. No profanity.
You get the picture.
Remember, the biggest part of tournaments is having fun. Tournaments shouldn't feel like work, they should feel like play.
Have Fun!
